User Terms and Conditions for St George's School for Girls
Website, Secure Areas and Educational VLE operated by St George's
School for Girls, (hereinafter referred to as "St George's Online"
or "S.T.G.O").
Please read these user terms and conditions carefully. They set
out the terms under which S.T.G.O services are provided to you by
St George's School for Girls, Garscube Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 6BG
(hereinafter referred to as "us" or "we"). By accessing the S.T.G.O
services you agree to be bound by these user terms and
conditions.
Registration
The details provided by you on registration are important and
should be correct and complete. If we believe that you have
provided false information we reserve the right to terminate your
participation in S.T.G.O without notice.
Your Personal Information
We will respect your personal information and undertake to
comply with all applicable UK data protection legislation. When you
register as a user of S.T.G.O, we will collect the information
necessary to provide the S.T.G.O services which includes, as a
minimum, your name and your e-mail address. You may also be asked
to provide personal details if you require services from S.T.G.O.
We will also collect information from you if you complete any other
forms on our site or if you contact us with comments or specific
requests. The information (including any sensitive personal
information) you submit will be stored on computer. By accepting
these user terms and conditions you consent to us using the
information you submit to operate the S.T.G.O service. S.T.G.O is a
FREE service provided by St George's School for Girls.
We may use cookies to collect information about your use of the
S.T.G.O services in order to make visits to S.T.G.O more efficient.
This helps us follow browsing preferences, make improvements to
S.T.G.O services and personalise your experience of S.T.G.O.
Cookies do not contain personal information about the user. Your
personal information will not be passed onto other bodies for
direct marketing purposes, but may be used for marketing and
statistical purposes within the school. Personal information
collected from previous students will be stored on our alumnae
register and passed on to the St George's Old Girl's Association,
unless specific request is made otherwise. We do not authorise
advertisers or members to send unsolicited commercial emails
(SPAM). If you receive any such e-mail please inform us by e-mail
at the supplied contact address.
Your Obligations to Us
You agree that you will only use S.T.G.O in a manner that is
consistent with these user terms and conditions and in such a way
as to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Your use of S.T.G.O carries with it no rights in relation to
copyright, trade and service marks or other intellectual property
rights in S.T.G.O or any other intellectual property rights owned
by or licensed to St George's School for Girls. You agree not to
display or use in any manner the S.T.G.O trade and/or service marks
or otherwise infringe any intellectual property rights owned by or
licensed to St. George's School for Girls. You agree not to use
S.T.G.O or the services made available to you on S.T.G.O such that
you cause the whole or part of S.T.G.O to be interrupted, damaged,
rendered less efficient or in any way impaired. We do not exclude
any liability for death or personal injury due to our
negligence.
Access to S.T.G.O and Content
We agree to use our reasonable endeavours to maintain S.T.G.O
services in fully operational condition. However we cannot
guarantee that this will always be the case and access to S.T.G.O
may be suspended, restricted or terminated at any time. We reserve
the right to change, modify, substitute or remove without notice
any information on S.T.G.O from time to time. Any pages in, or any
information derived from the S.T.G.O service (including emails and
downloaded files) may contain links to other web-sites or
resources. We are unable to accept responsibility for these nor can
we be deemed to have endorsed their content. In order to maintain
the integrity of S.T.G.O, we reserve the right to forward details
of any information provided by you or concerning your use of
S.T.G.O to the Police, or other Regulatory Authorities where
requested to do so. We may also forward contact details where a
complaint arises concerning your use of S.T.G.O and where the use
is deemed by us to be illegal or inconsistent with these user terms
and conditions.
Exclusions of Liability
We use reasonable endeavours to ensure data or information
posted by us on S.T.G.O is accurate and to correct any errors or
omissions as soon as practicable after being notified of them. To
the extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude liability for
any defects or faults that may exist in or on S.T.G.O. or for loss
of data, arising from your use of, or inability to access S.T.G.O
or any of its services even where any such loss arises through our
negligence. We give no warranty or representation regarding the
value and integrity of goods and services offered by third parties
over or through the S.T.G.O service. Your dealings with, and
interest in goods and services found via S.T.G.O are solely between
you and the third party supplier of such goods and services. The
suppliers will supply on their own standard terms and conditions
and you should check that you agree to such terms and conditions
before placing an order. We can accept no liability for any goods
or services provided by third party suppliers. We will not be
responsible for any loss or damage that may arise from any such
dealing even where such loss or damage arises from our negligence,
save where such loss or damage cannot be excluded by law. We
reserve the right at any time and without any notice or explanation
to suspend, restrict, reduce or terminate your access to S.T.G.O
for any reason.
We may modify or discontinue the S.T.G.O service temporarily or
permanently, with or without notice to you Any loss or liability
arising out of the suspension, restriction, reduction, termination,
modification or discontinuance of the S.T.G.O service or for any
deletion or corruption of any data contained in the S.T.G.O
services, even where such suspension, restriction, reduction,
termination, modification or discontinuance is due to our
negligence, is excluded to the fullest extent permissible by law.
To the extent permitted by law, you specifically agree that we are
not responsible for or liable to you or anyone else for any
threatening, defamatory, libellous, obscene, offensive or illegal
conduct of any other party or you or any infringement of another's
rights, including intellectual property rights. We do not give any
warranty that S.T.G.O is free from viruses or anything else which
may have a harmful effect on any technology. To the extent
permitted by applicable law, we hereby confirm that, other than
expressly stated, S.T.G.O is provided without any warranties or
guarantees. In no event shall we be liable for any loss of profit,
revenues, goodwill, opportunity, business, anticipated savings or
other indirect or consequential loss of any kind in contract,
delict (including negligence) or otherwise arising out of any use
of S.T.G.O, save where such liability cannot be excluded by law. We
do not exclude any liability for death or personal injury caused
through our negligence.
Copyright
We respect the intellectual property of others, and we ask our
users to do the same. If you believe that a copy of your work is
available on the S.T.G.O service without your consent or that a
copyright infringement has otherwise occurred, please supply us
with the following information:- A description of the copyright
protected work in which you claim the copyright has been infringed;
Details of where the alleged infringing material is located on the
S.T.G.O service; Your address, telephone number and email address;
A statement by you that you believe in good faith that the use of
the work on the S.T.G.O service is not authorised by the copyright
owner or any person entitled to act on their behalf or by law; An
affidavit executed by you that the information you provide
concerning the copyright infringed is accurate. Please
deliver this information to St George's School for Girls, Garscube
Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 6BG.
General
We may modify these user terms and conditions from time to time
by publishing the modified user terms and conditions on the S.T.G.O
service web-site. Any modifications shall take effect 3 days after
posting on such web-site. If any provision of these terms and
conditions is held to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that
provision shall be deemed severed and the validity and
enforceability of the remaining provisions of these user terms and
conditions shall not be affected.

otherwise provided in these user terms and conditions.
Governing Law
These user terms and conditions are governed by and to be
construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any dispute
arising out of the interpretation, validity or performance of, or
otherwise in connection with these user terms and conditions shall
be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
In using the site I have read and I agree to be bound by the
S.T.G.O user terms and conditions.
