Maths, Science, Engineering and
Technology
St George's school is providing a chance for students
to come along to listen, and to talk to,
representatives from universities and employers about opportunities
in maths, science and engineering.
The Upper 5 will be attending the seminars during the
morning, but there has been time allocated for all girls over
the lunch hour in Upper 4 to Upper 6 to question the
visitors or just collect information. This is an excellent
opportunity for all students to widen their awareness of the
huge range of courses and careers open to them.
Agenda
10.45am - 11.45am
Upper 5 students will be shown to the Main Hall and
listen to four 10-15 minute presentations:
- Fiona Fairhurst: Shell UK
- Katharine Houston: University of Glasgow School of
Engineering
- Lynsey Tweedlie: Scottish Water
- Patricia Hart: The Roslin Institute
11.45am - 12.05pm
Time is allocated for the students to ask questions
of the speakers and reps and circulate round the stands,
including the speakers, plus those from Napier University,
Etrust, Wolfson, Heriot Watt and SAC.
