International Programme

School45.jpgSt George's has many international links with schools and institutions in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, Chile, South Africa, Rwanda, Russia, China and a whole host of other countries. Many of our students participate in exchanges, work experience and visits and it is always a life-enhancing experience for them.

From a very early age there are classroom connections and international projects with partner schools in Italy, Germany, Russia, China, Australia, the USA and Africa, where many girls communicate via the internet and video conferencing as well as setting up common websites. Senior students can also join adventure and community project trips to far-flung places. Recent destinations have included Uganda, Brazil, Peru, China and Antarctica.

From local to global there are regular study tours and field trips, as well as music and sports tours.  Our students learn a great deal about other countries and cultures, but also develop skills through the experience of spending some time in a different environment and in circumstances where they have to be more independent and self reliant. St George's welcomes exchange students, teachers and visitors from all over the world, who along with our own international students, add to the rich diversity of our community and so enhance our learning environment.

St George's is constantly developing its international connections, and is proud of its place in the global community.

While on some of these exchanges the girls can report back to their classmates on how things are going by making use of the school's blog services. Please look to the right hand side of this page, just below "International Programme", for any current blogs.
